I didn't recognize myself. Postpartum hair loss took me by surprise
I knew postpartum hair loss was common, but I didn't expect it to hit me so hard.
At around 3 months after giving birth, I started shedding more hair than usual. My once-thick hair began thinning, especially around my part. I found myself constantly adjusting my hairstyle to hide the sparse areas.
Every shower became a source of anxiety. Seeing clumps of hair wash away was alarming. Brushing my hair felt like a battle, with strands filling my brush each time. I worried I'd lose so much that I'd have bald spots.
But then, I noticed tiny hairs starting to grow back. It wasn't immediate, but slowly, my hair began to regain its fullness. I realized that while shedding is temporary, how I supported my hair during this time really mattered.
If you're going through this, remember: you're not alone. Many of us have faced this challenge, and with time and gentle support, hair wellness can return.
